Information for research mentors

The Annual HBCU Research Symposium provides a forum for faculty and students to present their research . Student researchers that has been guided by faculty and research mentors can apply for poster or oral presentation formats.  This high energy event will showcase the work of motivated faculty and students, working on many exciting research projects across disciplines. Students not yet engaged in research are encouraged to attend to learn more about getting involved. 

All accepted abstracts will be published in the Symposium Online Proceedings. Research mentors will be listed along with their students’ abstracts in the Proceedings and will be acknowledged at the presentation sessions. The presentation sessions are intended to stimulate discussion among presenters, faculty and research mentors, and the general audience. A session moderator will lead discussion in the session. If you wish to serve as a session moderator, please email hbcurs@HBCUResearch.com

Research mentors are strongly encouraged to attend the sessions and to assist their students with presentation practice or poster design, particularly students who have not yet presented their work for a general audience.
